Mark Petry shares these photos about the life of Hercules, one of Ms. Lillie’s and Mr. Houdini’s puppies. This first one is of Hercules hanging out at the home of Mark’s parents.
Hercules at attention
Hercules will sometimes sit like this for several minutes – apparently just because he likes to, Mark says.
Grady loves his boat!
Grady and his friend, Paige, enjoy cruising together. Paige clearly loves both the boat and the dog, since he named Grady after the boat's maker, Grady-White.
Hercules on his throne
This is where Mark and his family find Hercules just about every day when Hercules wants to take a nap. He has tremendous balance and of course keeps watch out the front and back windows of the house from this location. Talented dog!
It's your birthday, Bentley!
One of our friends, Matt, recently sent us this sweet photo of Bentley celebrating his birthday. Wonder what treat Bentley really is wishing for?
Hobbes wins Best of Breed
Jody is all smiles at the recent Plainfield (NJ) Kennel Club All-Breed Show as her beloved Hobbes takes Best of Breed. We are sure that many more awards are in their future.
Way to go Calvin and Hobbes!
Our friend Jody and her boys Calvin and Hobbes just earned their Basic Fast Coursing Ability Trial (FACT). Calvin is a boy that we breed. FCAT is a performance test where the dog chases a bag on a coursing line for 100 yards. The trial is timed. The time is turned into points with 150 points being required for BFCAT.
Eddy and Jen Vataru pose happily with their dog, GCH Harold, and Harold’s handler after taking part recently in the Westminster Kennel Club Show in New York City. “We are still glowing,” Jen told us. “The show was a memorable experience. Thank you for changing our lives. We are dog gone crazy!!!”
Love at first sight!
It’s easy to fall in love with a Westie. One of our friends shared this photo of Maggie May. “My daughter took Maggie for a photo shoot. She’s adorable. Thought you would like to see her.” Of course we do. Thanks!
Zoey the champ poses perfectly for her winner's photo at the Florida Gulf Coast Cluster Show in January 2019. Her awards include best of her class and Best of Opposite Sex. Zoey is a daughter of two Glenbrittle Westies dogs, Lillie and Houdini. Zoey's owner, Donna Canon, is president of the West Highland White Terrier Club of Greater Atlanta.

It's a dog's life for Mac
One of our Glenbrittle Westies, Mac, is doing just fine, reports his owner, Gretchen. This photo tells it all. Congrats, Mac!
Mac on watch
Like all Westies, Mac has a keen interest in wildlife. His owner, Gretchen, sent us this photo of Mac keeping watch over his kingdom.
Gus the family guy
One of our pups found a great home 8 years ago with Jenny. Gus had Jenny all to himself for 3 years - the perfect dog's life! Then the family grew overnight to 5. Jenny is happy to tell us that Gus did extremely well sharing her with 3 young girls. Gus and the girls have grown to love each other, Jenny adds. Aw, don't you love happy endings?
Tinker's feeling good!
Susan of Winston-Salem shares this photo of her beloved Tinker - fully recovered after treatment for bladder stones and surgery. We're happy that Tinker is doing well.
Emily turns 9
Anita Dickison just sent us this photo of Emily, her very special Westie. Emily was born with major medical conditions that required pioneering surgery at NC State University's vet school to correct. Despite Emily's conditions, Anita adopted her - with great results. "Emily just had her 9th birthday and is as loving and playful as ever!" Anita wrote recently, when she sent us Emily's photo.
Tradd takes flight!
Tradd has been doing wells at area shows this year. Here he is taking part in the Piedmont CAT. Thanks to Bernadette for sharing the great photo of Tradd in action!
Harold earns his GCH
Harold strikes a regal pose for the camera, after obtaining his Grand Championship. His full title is now GCH Glenbrittle-Camcrest Always Ready. Owners Eddy and Jennifer Vataru are sooo proud!
Hooray for Harold and Jen
Harold and co-owner Jen Vataru had a great showing at the San Mateo Kennel Club’s annual show in March. Harold (CH Glenbrittle-Camcrest Always Ready) earned Owner Handled Fourth Prize in the Variety Group. "He's a natural!" says Eddy Vataru. "And most importantly, he and Jen both had a really nice time at the show." As we write this, Harold is tied for ninth in the nation among West Highland White Terriers competing in the American Kennel Club's National Owner-Handled Series.
The Wilsons recently sent us this photo of their 4-year-old, McKenzie. She likes living with them in the Bahamas, Bill Willson tells us, and had just finished chasing lizards before this photo was taken. Sounds like heaven!
Maggie and friend
Maggie May smiles as she poses with her best friend, Jay Whitebriar O'Donneybrook. Maggie is the most darling dog, says Irene Honeycutt. Thanks for sharing, Irene!
Bettles and his flamingo
One of our puppies, Bettles, has adopted Rachel and went to live with her in Knoxville. Rachel sent us this photo of Bettles with his pink flamingo. He may still be a puppy, but Rachel reports that Bettles barked recently at a great blue heron who got too close.
Tradd and proud friends

Bundle of joy
Sir Winston has the Christmas spirit, thanks to his happy owner, Christine. "I love this dog. He has quite a personality. He is very caring, loving, affectionate and loyal. He follows me everywhere. I am forever grateful that
I have him!!!!"
Hercules guards the green
The Petry family shared this photo in October 2017 of Hercules, a Glenbrittle Westie, at 7 months and well settled into his new home. Hercules likes to sit on the family's back porch overlooking a golf-course green. Yes, he thinks he owns the green and lets the golfers know it, too, the Petrys tell us.
Holly's very good day!
Camcrest Maybe Baby (Holly) had a great show in October 2017 - where she won her breed and also won Best of Opposite Sex for the whole show. Sue and Al Pattillo are proud owners!
Holly and Bob
Sue and Al Pattillo, owners of Glenbrittle-Camcrest Maybe Baby (Holly) sent us this photo of Bob showing Holly at the West Highland White Terrier Club of Georgia’s Specialty event at the 2017 Peach Blossom Cluster dog show in Perry, Ga. Holly did well.
“Bob, I can't express how much we appreciate your staying to show our girl in Sweeps and the Specialty in Perry,” Sue wrote. “Winning Best of Sweeps was a first for us. Big, big hugs, my friend!”
Holly sets her sights high!
Camcrest Maybe Baby (Holly) relaxes after the show on October 2017. Sue and Al say that Holly always likes to be up on something - so here she is on top of both a table AND a porch!
Miss Emma and Ms Shirlee

Call him Rato!
Glenbrittle Jody's Boy of Destiny (Calvin) won a new award, his RAT Open title, in November 2017. Just 14 months, Calvin also competed in the Senior level and found all four of his rats. "Not bad for a boy only 14 months old!" says his owner, Jody.
Calvin and Jody
Calvin and Jody show off Calvin's new American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen title. The CGC program stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. Calvin passed a 10-step test to earn the CGC title. We’re proud of both of you, Calvin and Jody!
Jagger and Vickie
